Upwell podiatrist Patrick O’Connell (Pat) is passionate about keeping people healthy and active.
As your lower limb guru at Upwell, Pat will use his knowledge to help you understand how your lower limb and foot functions. Together, we will use this shared knowledge to manage your injuries and allow you to reach your full potential.
A member of the Sports Medicine Australia, Pat is well connected through the sports medicine and allied health industries allowing him to be up to date on all current research and best practise treatments.
As a qualified athletics coach, Pat knows how important efficiency and load management are in injury prevention. He provides specialised video gait assessment and gait retraining to prevent injuries and ensure you are reaching your peak performance. If required, Pat is skilled in the prescription of 3D scanned and 3D printed customised foot orthoses, once again used to improve lower limb and foot function.
Pat has a love of sport, competing for over 10 years in athletics, football and cricket. He is now a recreational runner and enjoys participating in fun runs to stay active. He utilises his personal and professional experiences within sport to assist you with injury management and prevention.
Pat also identifies the foot as being one of the most important parts of the body and therefore encourages general foot-care for those with foot and toe conditions such as diabetic foot, ingrown toe-nails and corns and calluses.
