Yoga at Upwell Health Collective – Camberwell.

 

Upwell’s yoga classes are held in a relaxing, intimate, small-group setting—which will leave you feeling completely blissed out! We limit our classes to 8-10 yogis so you get the individual attention you need from our experienced practitioners.

 

Regardless of your age, abilities or injuries, you’ll be in a class that is safe, effective and fun. And because you’re part of the Upwell community, Upwell’s yoga teachers can collaborate with your other practitioners to achieve your health and wellness goals.

Yoga at Upwell in Camberwell is currently running on a restricted schedule. 

 

Thursdays:

6pm – 7pm = Yoga Flow

7:15pm – 8:15pm = Yoga Fundamentals

  • YOGA FUNDAMENTALS

    • A slower paced general class designed to safely teach you the basics of yoga. This class is a hands-on workshop style with our experienced teachers who will demonstrate yoga asanas (poses) and help you find correct alignment. Questions are not only welcomed but encouraged by our teachers. 

  • YOGA FLOW

    • A dynamic and more fluid class which focuses on a variety of poses and transitions at a higher intensity and pace. Aimed at increasing strength, flexibility, core strength and endurance. Be prepared to flow, play, and get creative on your mat. You will walk away feeling strong, refreshed and energised. Yoga flow will give you the edge.

  • YOGA ALIGN

    • Find a balance between strengthening and softening the body with our Yoga Align classes. You will be guided through each posture at a slower to moderate pace, focusing on subtle shifts within the body to achieve the full expression of each posture. This is good for those with injury and pain.

  • YIN YOGA

    • A slow, steady and often stationary yoga practice, utilising postures that focus on our functional and energetic body. The postures target deep connective tissues, nourishing joints as you move through nonaggressive and sensitive poses, allowing our breath to be slow as individuals ease into the intensity of each pose with time.

New To Yoga?

  • WHAT TO WEAR

    • Soft, comfortable clothing that allows you to move and stretch easily is best. Shoes and socks are not worn in class. We have a shower near our functional training space which you are more than welcome to use but please respect others and keep showers to a few minutes during busy times.

  • WHAT TO BRING

    • We supply everything you need from mats to props for support which your teacher will guide you in the use of. You are welcome to bring your yoga mat if your prefer. We recommend bringing along a small towel and water bottle for your own personal use, we do have bottled water for purchase at reception. We have a small space for storage of personal belongings (shoes, keys and wallets etc.) so we recommend to only bring along what you need to the studio and leave large bags at home as this takes away floor space from your fellow yogis.
    • We have searched high and low to source beautiful, ethical and environmentally sustainable yoga props to ensure the very best experience for you with a conscience. Our bolster covers are made from 100% cotton hand-crafted from ethical workshops in India and our yoga blocks are made from eco friendly cork, which is a renewable resource that is made from the bark of fast-growing cork oak tress. The organic cotton used in the blankets and straps we provide are grown without the use of nasty chemicals which can be harmful to you and the environment.

  • WHAT TO EXPECT

    • We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early so you have time to check-in at reception, change, and get settled on your mat. On your first visit, plan to come 15 minutes earlier as we will need to capture new client details, process payments and this will allow you time to meet your teacher. If you are new to yoga at Upwell, please let your teacher know when you arrive that it is your first time at the studio (and/or yoga) and they will discuss what to expect from the class and answer any questions you might have.
    • Our yoga teachers are highly trained and passionate about helping you get the most from your practice so please introduce yourself and ask questions. Throughout the class, listen to your teacher as they will give you cues to ensure your practice is safe and teach you how to progress your yoga practice. If you feel uncomfortable or you are struggling throughout the class let your teacher know and they will come over and help you.
    • Please turn off your mobile phone before entering the yoga studio and leave all personal belongings in the shelving unit in the studio. While practicing yoga and meditation please be respectful of those around you and if you must leave the class for any reason, be as quiet as possible.
    • If you are a beginner, you have come to the right place. Our small group, personalised yoga classes are ideal for beginners. We highly recommend attending at least one Yoga Fundamentals class, which will teach you the basics and allow you to learn what yoga is all about in a safe and workshop style class.

  • BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS

    • Bookings for classes can be made via our website by clicking on the ‘book class now’ button, which will take you through to our online bookings section where you can select to attend the classes you want. Bookings for classes can also be made by calling us on (03) 8849 9096 or by visiting Upwell Health Collective during reception hours which are 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am until 12pm Saturday.
    • As our classes are small-group with no more than 10 students in a class, we recommend booking your classes ahead of time to ensure that you can attend the classes that you want. We do not recommend turning up before a class starts to book your spot as classes can fill up quickly and you may miss out. When you arrive at Upwell, please visit reception to check-in prior to each class and make payment for classes. Payments for classes are pre-paid via casual classes, class passes (5, 10 or 20) or our two-week yoga intro pass.
    • We keep your class passes on your file at reception so there is no need to remember to bring your pass along. We will also remind you when you have almost used your classes on your pass if you wish to purchase another.
